How To Live A Life That Glorifies God

We live in a generation where most people see living a life that glorifies God as an old school act, or something that cannot be showcased.

For some who strive to live a life that God-glorifying life, they have to go to the extent of concealing it. But God may not be pleased that way.

It is unfortunate that so many people today feel ashamed to live that life that can bring them out of shame and make them outstanding in their generation. I have never seen a man who lives his life glorifying God and ended up in shame; but rather, God makes them into a star and a shinning light in the world.

Glorifying God isn’t for Him, it is for you—because when the reward starts manifesting, you become a wonder to your world.

It is not enough to desire to live a life that glorifies God, what is more important is that you make that decision and start implementing the same in their daily life.

How To Live A Life That Glorifies God

According to the holy Bible in 2 Corinthians 6:17, it says,

“So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor.”[Amplified version].

Until there is separation, there cannot be a decoration. It is when you glorify God in your life that He decorates you and makes you an ambassador of what His kingdom represents.

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light [Amplified version].

We see according to the above scripture, that what God wants to see happen in your life is glorifying Him. Doing things outside of what God has called you to do is like dishonoring Him and cutting short His expectation over your life.

Firstly, the simplest way to glorify God in our lives is doing as He wills, not as we wish! God knows why He wants us to lead our life the way He instructed, and we have to cooperate with Him, if we must walk in the reality of His promises for us.

How Do We Glorify God In Our Daily Lives

Glorifying God is not a one-time event, it is a lifetime task that must be done consistently and daily.

Whatever you do and it doesn’t bring glory to God, takes you farther from Him. Because glorifying God is pleasing Him, the more you please Him, the closer He will draw you to Himself.

Whatever will not bring glory to His Name in your life, you must do your best to avoid doing such things.

We can glorify God in our lives by being watchful of what we do with our lives daily, because we are conscious that God is omnipresent and He is always watching us. If He will not be pleased with what I’m doing, then I shouldn't be found doing it.

One of the simplest ways we can glorify God is to desist from doing in secret, whatever you would be ashamed to do in public. If your conscience condemns you when you do a particular thing, then desist from doing it.

10 Ways To Glorify God In Our Everyday Life

Glorifying God may not be an easy task but it is compulsory for all Believers who really want to live their lives according to the will of God.

There are 10 ways (as we will state today) that can help us to live a life that glorifies God:

1. Consistently Dwell The Word Of God

According to Psalm 119:105, the Bible says: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." When God’s word becomes part and parcel of you, then it will guide you through the path that will make you want to glorify God in your everyday life.

The more you study God’s word, the more you know the truth and as truth sets you free, you will see why you should not live in disobedience to God.

2. Ask For The Spirit's Empowerment

Sometimes, we strive to please God with our own strength. But the Bible says in Philppians 2:13: "[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight" [Amplified version]

We see from this scripture that it is not in our human ability to please the Almighty God, but if we will allow Him empower us, then He will help us do His will—which is glorifying Him.

3. Be In The Right Company

Keep an association that is positive in their words. If you're involved in the company of immoral people that speak vulgar words, it will only take a short while before you become like them. They will initiate you into their own foolishness and vain lifestyle.

4. Engage In Godly Activities

Be intentional about engaging in activities that brings glory to God, not things that corrupt the mind and take your attention away from God. Everything you listen to, watch or see are seeds and they will have impact in your life.

5. Be Spiritually Sensitive At All Times

Be spiritually sensitive, because there are days that you will be provoked—maybe by your colleagues at work, school or even your own loved ones—but are you discerning enough to know that it came to steal something from you? Be sensitive to the happenings around you.

6. Know And Believe That It's Possible

Be conscious on why you can glorify God and not why glorifying God is not easy. This is because when you feel you cannot do it, the flesh steps in to power your confession. But when you confess you can glorify God, the Spirit of God takes over your being and empowers you to do according to His will.

7. Stay Positive And Godly In Your Thoughts

Be intentional about staying positive, no matter the negativity around you. We know that it is not so easy to live a life that pleases God in our present generation, because we are surrounded by things that corrupt our mind. But if you can stay positive in your mind (no matter the negativity around you), and train yourself to think only godly thoughts, you will definitely stand out.

8. Stay Prayed Up

Pray always, as this sharpens your sensitivity and draws you closer to God, thereby empowering you and giving you the zeal to glorify God.

9. Stay Joyful At All Times

Stay joyful, and always ensure to maintain a joyful atmosphere, because this is how you can draw blessings from God and get mnd-blowing testimonies. Complaining always is one of the acts that displeases God

10. Remain Grateful At All Times

Have an attitude of thankfulness and express it to God at all times. Avoid questioning His authority or blaming Him for uncomfortable situations. Have an attitude of gratefulness.

In most cases, we deny ourselves of our inheritance in Christ, because we are scared of what people will say, we therefore try to fit in and refuse to openly live a life that glorifies God.

But let's also be reminded that the same people who taunt us for living a godly life, are as well waiting for our manifestation. Until we start living out that glorious life in Christ, they too may not have a chance to come into the light.

This is a wake up call, for us to return to God and start living a life that sets us apart from the crowd. God is depending on you to become a wonder and command possibilities in your daily life, and in the lives of others.
